Photographs in the Division of Mineralogy document esthetically important as well as scientifically relevant specimens from the collection. Early photographs are black-and-white prints; there are a significant number of color slides, taken beginning in the 1960s. An ongoing project aims at digitally photographing all catalogued specimens in the mineral collection.
