Photographs provide supporting documentation of people, objects, and places relevant to objects in the historical scientific instrument collection or to the history of science at Yale and in North America. The Division of Historical Scientific Instruments has historical Yale-specific photographic materials from the University’s physics, chemistry, and research laboratories and Yale’s astronomical expeditions and observatories. Holdings also include the earliest set of non-medical X-rays created in the North America.
